I have based my teaching for yoga on the Ashtanga style, which I first started practicing in 2012.

From the age of 17 years I became an avid practitioner in keep fit and aerobics, weight lifting and healthy eating.

It was not until I tried yoga that I realised that there was more available to me for personal growth and happiness, Practicing yoga became my lifestyle & gave me great happiness.

This is why I wish to share this with you, in the hope that this not only improves your health but helps you discover the other benefits yoga has to offer which can lead to long term happiness & contentment.

I believe that by sharing the practice with you, teaching the details gradually as I learned them from my teachers over time, you will be able to go away and practice confidently on a mat anywhere in the world.

This slow development in strength and flexibility reduces the chance of injury and allows your body & mind to develop over time.

This practice is safe for any age from teenagers to retirement; it’s never too late to start.

Yoga studies-history, philosophy studies and Sanskrit

Pranayama (Sanskrit: प्राणायाम prāṇāyāma)

Sanskrit word alternatively translated as "extension of the prāṇa (breath or life force)" or "breath control." The word is composed from two Sanskrit words: prana meaning life force (noted particularly as the breath), and either yama (to restrain or control the prana, implying a set of breathing techniques where the breath is intentionally altered in order to produce specific results) or the negative form ayāma, meaning to extend or draw out (as in extension of the life force). It is a yogic discipline with origins in ancient India.

Asana practice to build up strength and flexibility

5 minutes of Samadhi/rest /relaxation

Each lesson will build on the last. Until we have the strength and flexibility to complete as much of the Primary series available in one hour.

Vinyasa yoga, in which movement is synchronized to the breath, is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes. This style is sometimes also called flow yoga, because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance.
